My primary goals as a mental health therapist are for my clients to feel as seen, accepted, and empowered as possible. As a humanistic therapist, I believe that people possess an innate and unlimited capacity for growth; my role is to support clients in evolving this potential through Carl Rogers’s core therapeutic conditions of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. I respect that clients are the experts on themselves, and trust them to explore their internal landscapes at their own pace. My work with clients is collaborative, and I appreciate the value of guiding clients to their own solutions while offering clinical expertise and encouragement.
My experience in the mental health field has included work in hospital and outpatient settings with children and adolescents utilizing cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral approaches. In my work with children and adolescents, I also draw from Child-Centered and Synergetic play therapies in helping clients achieve goals such as emotion regulation, improved self-esteem, and safety towards self and others. I enjoy working with adults in developing individualized treatment plans that address challenges such as anxiety and depressive disorders, divorce, and trauma. Other approaches that influence my work include feminist therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and multicultural therapy. I look forward to offering my authenticity and enthusiasm in supporting you (or your child) in creating your most healed and connected self.
